Japan is the oldest nation in the world.

Japan was founded in 660 B.C.
The first emperor Jimmu founded the country in Yamato and it has never been destroyed since then, and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest country in the world.

The Founding Emperor’s Rescript states that “the duty of the Emperor is to make the people happy”.

Japan is home to the Kojiki (Chronicles of Ancient Matters) and the Nihon Shoki (Chronicles of Japan), both of which are said to be myths.

It has an unbroken history from 660 B.C. to today.

This page provides Japanese studies on Japanese mythology, history and education.
